You’ve got to see Welcome to Dilley, a collaborative project by the visual communications cooperative Black Box. The project’s beautiful online presentation combines still photography, video, and writing, by the Black Box’s members: photographers Chris Gregory, Natalie Keyssar, and Jake Naughton, and designer Alejandro Torres Viera. Welcome to Dilley is the story a small town in Texas with a population of about 4,000, that is now also home to the nation’s largest detention facility for immigrants.
Lens recently published a little bit about how the project came together. Last year PDN had a short interview with Black Box talking about how they work together. And though the Dilley project is new to me, it was shown last year at Photoville.
