Worth a look: Abdulaziz and Derballa chronicle NYC Fashion Week

I’ve grown tired of photojournalistic coverage of NYC’s Fashion Week; the event feels too much like a press conference to justify such all-hands-on-deck reportage. But a couple friends of dvafoto, Mustafah Abdulaziz and Bryan Derballa, pulled out a few surprises around the runways in their coverage of the week for the Wall Street Journal. There are the runways and the models getting ready, but also a view of some of the unexpected fringes of the event and unusual perspectives on the yearly hurrah.

Check out Abdulaziz’s edit for MJR, Derballa’s work edited by Abdulaziz, Derballa’s outtakes, Abdulaziz’s work on the Wall Street Journal photo blog, and Derballa’s work on the Wall Street Journal photo blog.
