New Media and the news from Mumbai
Nov 27, 2008 by Matt Lutton No Comments »There will be plenty to talk about in the coming days, especially on this topic, but Wired blog writer Noah Shachtman has put together an interesting spread of how news of the Mumbai attacks has been coming out by twitter, flickr and wikipedia: Mumbai Attack Aftermath Detailed, Tweet by Tweet.
I still recommend The Lede Blog at the New York Times, which started with this updated post (which actually turned me on to this Wired story) and is currently writing on this page. This is new media in itself, updating the latest news via a blog on the New York Times’ own website, and is an interesting development. And, they’re using one of Michael Rubenstein’s pictures (who tipped me to the story himself, from Mumbai, via his blog).
My deepest condolences to the people living through this (ongoing, which is the worst part in my mind) tragedy. Even more of an underscore to the American Thanksgiving Day which has just reached me in Seattle. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. I hope you get to share it with family and friends.
